On Friday, April 6, Greene County Juvenile Judge Robert Lawson executed the oath of office and swore in 19 new Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). The volunteers represent a variety of backgrounds, including law, education, healthcare, financial services, student, human resources, and marketing.
The new volunteers will soon be assigned to the case of a child or sibling group in Greene County. Once assigned, CASA volunteers advocate for the child’s best interests, ensuring his or her needs are being met while in foster care.
Congratulations to each one of these graduates. We are proud to have them as advocates and are confident they will make a lasting difference for children.
We are now in the process of accepting applications for our next training session, which begins May 31.
